MIRNA BOTHMA
Owner and manager of Mirna`s Aerobic Studio
I have been involved in the fitness industry for 16 years. Studied BA (Ed) at TUKS and taught Afrikaans and English at Hoërskool Ermelo before I decided to become a fitness instructor. It has always been my dream to have my own studio. Today I am a qualified aerobics, Booty Barre®, Rhythm Pilates® Zumba, Step, Rebound, Power Pump and BASI pilates® instructor based in Ermelo, Mpumalanga. I am extremely passionate about helping women feel empowered about their bodies. I believe in having fun while getting the rocking and healthy body of your dreams. I am a firm believer in continuing education to ensure that our aerobics studio stay on top of all the latest fitness trends. My fitness weekly in the local newspaper “Insight”, is not only a way of sharing my thoughts and knowledge, but also the expression of my passion for the written word. Aristotle said: “You are what you repeatedly do.” It is my firm believe that, if you want to be outstanding, you have to develop the habit of personal excellence.

ELSJE DE BEER
"Fuel to the soul"
Dancing and fitness have been part of my life since I was 5 years old, ranging from Modern dancing, Acrobatic dancing, Ballet and finally playing for the C/D(!!!) Netball teams at Ermelo High School... I joined the Mirna`s Aerobic Studio - family in 2013, where I was introduced to the BASI Pilates system by Mirna. After a time of exploring other exercise regimes for a few months, I returned to Mirna`s in 2016, realizing that there is so much truth in the saying "Home is not a place, it`s a feeling". I have experienced, and still do, every day, Mirna`s zest for life, effort, well-being and health.
"Unfortunately, and fortunately", I experienced first-hand on how Pilates sped up my recovery after a back injury, and there my interest in and passion for this exercise discipline just expanded. I was extremely proud to successfully pass the BASI Mat teacher training exam in September 2016 and ever since my life has changed- my career has changed - a shift I did NOT anticipate.
Mirna`s Aerobic Studio offers a positive, welcoming training environment to accommodate and fulfill anyone of any fitness level, age and need - From a 7 year old girl enjoying Zumba up to an 80 year old lady participating in Pilates.
I am looking forward to broadening my horizons and knowledge in more Pilates-related disciplines later this year and even more, sharing it with the Mirna`s Aerobic Studio family - an addition to all the already fun disciplines Mirna is offering.
For me, fitness is fuel to the soul. The benefits to the physique and health...just an added bonus!
What a privilege to be part of Mirna`s Studio!

Running before walking...Yeah, that`s me!
I've been exercising all my life, simply because it makes me feel vibrant, open-minded, and of course keeps me fit. I never thought that I would become involved in the fitness industry, though. I've been doing aerobics classes, thanks to my mother who dragged me along for 4 years, before I realized that I should also be on stage, as an instructor, together with Mirna and Elsje.
About a year ago Mirna prompted me about doing the Rebound instructor course with Keith McFarlane and I immediately agreed. Soon after I taught my first rebounding class as an instructor and it was MAGICAL! Just there I realized that this is what I really love to do and that I would commit.
With the help of Mirna, I quickly developed my own style as an instructor. Without her, I couldn't have done all of this. I am thankful for the opportunity to gain confidence, to grow each day as an instructor and really enjoy every minute!
The best workout is when the whole class co-operate, smile, scream and shout while getting a good, sweaty workout. But wait...The best of all...are the themed aerobics classes - when we all show up, dress up, and mood up! The annual fitness challenge is also a huge highlight on our workout calendar each year, and keeps the members motivated and excited. it is, after all, called a "challenge" for a reason!
To be part of Mirna`s Aerobic studio is a privilege...just remember....to breathe!

CECILE MYBURGH
"You're only ONE WORKOUT away from A GOOD MOOD."
My first introduction to aerobics or exercise to the beat of music was in Grade 11. From the first
moment, I was hooked. Those days I used to ride 8km and back on my bicycle, four days a week to
join the aerobics class. As a student in Potchefstroom I trained with a talented and passionate
instructor, who motivated me to complete a fitness instructor course with Reebok. I was an
instructor at the Northwest University for two years and had several opportunities to give classes in
different towns over the years.
When we relocated to Ermelo in 2016, I was super excited to discover Mirna’s Aerobic Studio. Her
studio offers a wide range of different kinds of classes. The classes are always professional, she
provides us with lots of challenges and stay in touch with all the latest trends and developments in
the world of fitness. On top of all we are having fun in a very caring atmosphere!
This is also where I did my first Rebound class - an energetic, cardio workout with so many benefits.
I would never have dreamed of doing an Instructor course in Rebound, but hey, you never know
with Mirna. She has stretched my boundaries and motivated me to reach new horizons.
Positive psychology and helping people to become the unique person they were made to be, is
another passion. I completed a postgraduate course in Personal and Professional Leadership at
Johannesburg University. The focus of the degree was total wellness and developing human
potential. This has a direct link with keeping fit and exercising. Our human bodies and physical health
play a crucial part in reaching our potential. Exercise also help release many feel good hormones like
serotonin and to restore emotional balance.
“Our training shoes have magic in them. The power to transform a bad day in a good day, frustration
into speed, self-doubt into confidence and stress into motivation.” – Quote from Shape magazine

DOEMPIE MEYER
Fitness is not just about hitting the gym; it is also about an inner happiness and an overall well-being
My involvement in the fitness industry got under way in 1983 when I completed a course in Gymnasium and Sports management at the University of Pretoria, which included sport specific training programmes, strength training and aerobic exercise. I started teaching aerobics classes in the same year at “Frik se Gym” as well as the Errie Biokinetic Centre.
To me it's important to stay up to date, so over the years I attended courses in Recreational gymnastics, Fitgim, Trimgim, Hilton Kotze and other great names in the aerobics industry like Susan Immelman, Aeroboco. I even had the pleasure of training with Linda Kriel for some time and in 2017 I completed the Instructor training at Rebound SA.
To me training with and teaching at Mirna`s is special – the variety is endless, the fitness challenges are inspiring and the vibe simply amazing. I joined Mirna`s Aerobic Studio in 2016 as a part-time instructor and it has been a joyful, exciting journey. Looking forward to years to come and to be part of this competent team of instructors!

SARITA
We are privileged to welcome Sarita Kock, a huge fitness enthusiast and Yoga lover
Sarita is currently doing her 200hour Yoga Certification through Trifocus Fitness Academy in Johannesburg. This Certification is fully endorsed by the Yoga Teachers Fellowship of South Africa which falls under the umbrella of the International Yoga Federation. It’s also the only Yoga certification accredited by CATHSSETA. The course is centered around Hatha Yoga but incorporates other styles too.
During her 20's Sarita practiced Bikram and Power Yoga in London and Cape Town for a couple of years and has recently decided to take up the practice again by doing a teacher`s training course. We are so excited that Sarita has decided to share her expertise and experience with us, and we are all looking forward to all the benefits this new workout regime has to offer.
In Sarita`s own words: “Yoga promotes good health placing the physical body in positions that cultivate awareness, relaxation and concentration. In a culture in which we rush from one day to the next, constantly trying to change our health, our body, or our emotions, or to plan our future, Yoga opens up the possibility of connecting to what we already have — to who we already are.
When people tell me that they want to try Yoga but are reluctant because they aren’t “flexible enough,” I tell them Yoga isn’t about attaining the perfect pose. It’s not about being “good enough” or “right”: Yoga is about removing any judgment and letting us be present to who we are now.”
