It`s not always a smooth path…” These are the iconic words of former President Barack Obama, an August birthday boy, and a man who has captivated the world with his words. When we look back on our Winter Challenge, one which was supposed to be fairly easy, the above words of Obama also rang true. PROGRESS IS NEVER EASY DURING THE COLD SEASON, AND YES, IT WASN'T EASY…but you have all worked extremely hard, the studio has been bustling with energy, even on some of the coldest mornings, and we have experienced the busiest July EVER. Thank you!

Good luck to all our Winter Challenge members – we are almost there! On Friday 11th August the last body assessments will be conducted and Tuesday the 15th is the last day to get to your total of 24 classes. On our Winter Challenge Whatsapp group you will receive details of the prize giving event which will be held on Thursday the 17th of August. There will be Pilates class at 16.00 as scheduled , but no step class at 17.15 on that day! Everyone is however invited to join us for a short 80`s Aerobics themed class to get you all in the mood for the long awaited Lucky Draw. And, of course, our best dressed member will be the winner of a free September month in the studio. Remember, EVERY successful Challenge member receives a prize. You can`t lose!
Then, take a deep and serious look at the details of our Summer Challenge starting on the 4th of September – You should really consider not missing out on this annual exciting event! It`s going to be tough, but the benefits of joining are tremendous!
We are also handing out the new time table which will be implemented on Monday the 4th of September when the Power Pump classes are also underway. Just remember, only classes of 35 minutes and longer are taken into consideration when you are accumulating classes during the challenge – so the 20 minute Killer Abs and Kettlebell quickie don`t count as a full class! We are excited about the Power Pump, and the past few months have really proved that shorter, more intense workouts are indeed sensible!
On Wednesday the 9th of August the scheduled body assessments will be done, but the studio will be closed on that Public Holiday.
I think we should just be clear on a few technical aspects regarding the fees:
Members who pay their R280 monthly fee pay R20 per Booty Barre class and/or Pilates class IF they book for all the scheduled classes in the month, for example every Wednesday morning or Thursday afternoon.
Members on the waiting list and members who only attend some of the classes during the month pay R30 per class.
Members who only do Pilates and/or Booty Barre or only ONE Aerobics class per week pay R70 per class.
Non-members pay R100 per Booty Barre and/or Pilates class, and R50 per Aerobics class
Then, please remember that if you book for Apparatus AND Aerobics your fee is R350 per month and a time-slot has to be booked in advance. Members who only want to do a session on the Apparatus now and then pay R50 per session! Please don`t hesitate to contact me or ask if you have any questions regarding the fees.
Another change on our workout schedule which should be noted is the Kids Zumba class which, as you will see, has also changed to a Cardio Fun class from August. Exposing the kids to all the various fitness regimes in our studio in a fun and playful way is really a valuable tool working on their muscle memory, well-being and fitness! We have tried it and they love the variety of Zumba, Step, Rebound, playing, and yes, even doing Pilates!
