Hmmm, of course! It`s May, and this magnificent month @ Mirna`s always means only one thing: It`s Winter Challenge time again!!!!! A record-breaking 112 members (and counting!) have entered our Winter Fitness Witness Challenge starting on Monday the 7th of May. That means that our cash prize for the lucky draw is ALREADY R5600! Exciting times! It`s especially nice to see how all our New Year Challenge members are returning to the studio with renewed energy and enthusiasm☺ (Thanks to those of you who never falter to keep on coming – challenge or no challenge!) There is still time to enter, though, if you want to – 39 sessions in 13 weeks, that`s the very reachable, reasonable number of workouts you need to be successful. Time and again we experience how the challenge really helps to numb the winter cold. It keeps us preoccupied and before you can say “minimumaanvoelbaretemperatuurvan3gradeCelcius” – the cold season is something of the past.
It`s with pleasure that we welcome all our new members, and a few prodigal, loved ones. Hope you feel welcome and at home already, and soon experience the studio as your Happy Place:

Apparently individuals born in the month of May are extremely enthusiastic, hardworking and always on the move. Their physical attractiveness coupled with their mental strength makes them absolutely irresistible. Happy birthday to all our May birthday members:

7 Bianca Matthee

As you have seen, this month we are also incorporating Yoga sessions into our workout schedule, and we are very privileged to welcome Sarita Kock in our studio. Sarita is a huge fitness enthusiast – apart from all her other fitness endeavours, Sarita practiced Bikram and Power Yoga in London and Cape Town previously for a few years and has recently decided to do the teachers training course. She is currently busy with her 200hr Yoga Certification through Trifocus Academy in Johannesburg. This Certification is fully endorsed by the Yoga Teachers Fellowship of South Africa which falls under the umbrella of the International Yoga Federation.
We are really excited and thankful that Sarita decided to share her expertise with us, here in the comfort of our own studio, and we are all looking forward to all the benefits this new workout regime has to offer. (For the duration of the challenge, these classes can be attended at no extra cost, and are open to all members. There are however, only 15 blue mats, so all other members joining the session will have to work on the black exercise mats.)
Please remember that all our open classes work on a first come first serve basis…
Month of May also means huge red-letter month for Elsje and John – good luck with the last few weeks before the birth of your baby boy - we believe and pray that all will go well!!! My team – Geraldine, Doempie, Cecile, Annelize – thank you!!!
One of my all-time favourite quotes comes from William Clement Stone, the famous American businessman, also a May birthday boy. He once said: “Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star…” I love this quote for so many reasons – it is human tendency to aim too low. So often we are afraid of failure – if we could just realize that failure is not aiming too high and missing, no, that`s called experience. Failure is setting your sights too low and never realizing your potential.
It`s never too late to believe it, to live it like it WILL happen and BOOM! To SEE it happen. Let`s all make this month of May the one where we start to aim a bit higher and overlay it with an abundance mentality. What a difference we would make to ourselves and within the world.
For it was also Clement Stone that said: “There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative.”

Yours in fitness
